Software Engineer (Mid-Level)
Remote with one day per week in the office, occasional on-site work at customer locations, and occasional extended hours around launches and production issues.
About the role
CC Tech Digital builds and modernizes cloud and software systems for government agencies and mission-driven organizations. As a mid-level engineer you'll own features from requirement to deployed code — across frontend, mobile, and backend.
What you'll do
- Build features end to end across frontend, mobile, and backend
- Design and implement APIs and relational data models
- Integrate with third-party systems — payment providers, identity services, CRMs, and legacy platforms
- Deploy and operate services on AWS
- Write tests, review code, and debug production issues
Requirements
- 5–8 years of professional software development experience
- Strong TypeScript/JavaScript; hands-on React or React Native
- Solid backend and relational database experience — you can design a schema and defend it
- Experience integrating with external APIs you don't control, including handling failure gracefully
- Working knowledge of AWS, Docker, and CI/CD pipelines
- Comfortable owning a feature from requirement to deployed code
Nice to have
- Terraform or other infrastructure-as-code
- Payment integration experience (Stripe or similar)
- Offline-first mobile patterns — local storage, sync, conflict resolution
- Message queues and event-driven architecture
- Kubernetes
- AWS certifications and other relevant technical certifications

You won't have used all of this. We care that you're strong in the core and can pick up the rest.
